STATEMENT OF SEN. WIN GATCHALIAN ON THE DETECTION OF MONKEYPOX CASES

I urge our schools to implement measures and promote practices that will help mitigate the risk of monkeypox (mpox) transmission among learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel. These include promoting proper handwashing and respiratory etiquette. Schools should also ensure the availability of handwashing stations, raise awareness about monkeypox, proactively monitor the health of school personnel, and maintain close coordination with health facilities.

Ngayong nalalapit na ang pagbubukas ng panibagong school year, mahalagang tiyakin natin ang kaligtasan ng ating mga paaralan mula sa banta ng mpox.
