Pasay City - Senate Majority Leader Francis 'Tol' Tolentino is committed to continue supporting the development of women's basketball in the country.

The team owner of the Cavite TOL Patriots, Tolentino today unveiled the revamped roster of the Tagaytay City-based squad for the second conference of the Women's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (WMPBL).

"This is our contribution to the growth of Philippine women's basketball. We give talented Filipina ballers the opportunity to pursue their passion for the game after their collegiate career," said the senator.

Returning players who signed contracts to suit up for the TOL Patriots for next season include Luisa San Juan, Bernice Paraiso, Erika Jimenez, Mik Gonato, Cham Natural, Jaina Del Prado, and Danica Pacia.

Making up the new players are Khat Catimbuhan, Claudine Santos, and Mikee Antonio.

The team also hired physical therapist Chielo Therese Duñgo. Additional recruits to complete the roster will be announced soon, according to Tolentino.

Composed of homegrown players and former collegiate standouts, the Cavite TOL Patriots made an impressive debut at the inaugural conference of the WMPBL. The squad reached the quarterfinals of the league composed of 14 teams.

Tolentino is confident that the TOL Patriots will come back stronger, with the coaching staff and players more accustomed to the team's system, and with help from the new recruits.

The senator's three sons, Tagaytay Councilor Micko, Patrick, and Jeb, are also actively involved in overseeing the squad's preparations for the next tournament.

The second conference of the WMPBL will kick off next month.
