AFP should stay non-partisan: Senate President Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero on Monday, March 24, 2025, says the Armed Forces of the Philippines should remain non-partisan, as he appeals to Vice President Sara Duterte to stop courting the military to align itself to their side. “The AFP should not take sides with anyone. They should stand behind the chain of command and the Constitution under the commander in chief. And it is not for them to play politics and favor one side or the other,” Escudero said. “I hope both sides will also stop courting our armed forces because we do not want them to intervene every time there is a disagreement among politicians in our country. It is not their job to be referees in any political issues in our country,” he added. (Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau) |
